Halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) cables

ExxonMobil Signature Polymers offer a versatile portfolio for halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) cable applications. These halogen-free compounds can incorporate Exact™ polyolefin elastomers (POE) as a polymer carrier, supporting supply security and offering potential cost savings as an alternative to HEVA. For highly filled bedding compounds, Exact POE or Vistamaxx™ performance polymers can also serve as effective carriers, enabling further cost optimization.

Vistalon™ EPDM rubber offers enhanced flexibility, ozone resistance and inherent water-treeing resistance for long service life.

Industrial wire and cable

Exact™ plastomers can be used to modify Vistalon™ EPDM and XLPE compounds and blend well with Escorene™ Ultra EVA formulations for halogen-free applications. Jayflex™ plasticizers contribute to the effectiveness of PVC as an insulating and sheathing material.

Exact™ plastomers contribute outstanding flexibility to EVA in halogen-free applications and are a good blend partner with a variety of compounds. Vistamaxx™ performance polymers are a good option for highly flexible electrical applications with halogen-free requirements. Jayflex™ plasticizers contribute to the effectiveness of PVC as an insulating and sheathing material.

Fiber optics

Fiber optic cable gel filling compounds, along with tough cable casings and internal supports, are among the critical ingredients that create a secure environment to protect fiber optic threads from temperature extremes and moisture. SpectraSyn™ Hi Vis PAO, SpectraSyn Elite™ mPAO and SpectraSyn™ Lo Vis PAO perform exceptionally well in fiber optic cable gel applications. SpectraSyn PAO, with their well-defined molecular weights and structures, can be used to make filling compounds with various additives that remain integral (no separation) at extreme temperatures and are compatible with many types of polymers used in cable fabrication.
