Olefins licensing: The Selective Cracking Optimum REcovery ethylene process

Chemical plant operating by day

ExxonMobil and KBR introduced Selective Cracking Optimum REcovery (SCORE™) ethylene process in 1999. This technology was made possible by a worldwide ethylene technology licensing arrangement between ExxonMobil and M.W. Kellogg, followed by the latter’s merger with Brown & Root, allowing the best features of three leading technology companies to be combined into one package. This brings efficiency, higher selectivity and lower capital costs to olefins producers.

With more than 60 years of experience in ethylene technology, ExxonMobil operates 10 ethylene plants worldwide. KBR is an international technology-based engineering and construction company with more than 50 years of ethylene plant design and construction experience.
