Draves Test - Measuring an alcohol's wetting speed.

The Draves test consists of measuring the time required to wet a standard cotton skein in a 1g/L surfactant solution. In this comparison, we can see that the Exxal-based ethoxylate’s wetting is significantly faster than the competitor. (12 vs 4 seconds, or 3x times faster) So what? Surface wetting is an essential performance metric for many surfactant-based end products. In applications such as household, institutional and industrial (HI&I), faster and better wetting can have a positive impact on processes and business results. Similarly, wetting performance can lead to advantages in crop applications when active ingredients need to be quickly applied on surfaces. Click on the video to learn more.
