Case study: PE sealant film with balanced stiffness and toughness for mono-material frozen bags, boosting output while maintaining optics

To meet growing demand for mono-material frozen food packaging, ExxonMobil Signature Polymers collaborated with JinMing to develop a PE sealant film. This solution replaces traditional PET/PA substrates, improving recyclability* while maintaining balanced stiffness & toughness, sealability and package integrity. Using Exceed™ Stiff+ and Exxtra™ Seal POP resins, the film offers strong mechanical properties, a broad sealing window, and high-speed processability, achieving up to 850 kg/h output on JinMing’s 5-layer POD line. *Designed with features intended to support recyclability. Actual recyclability depends on factors such as local collection, sortation, and recycling infrastructure, as well as the condition and configuration of the film after use. However, access to facilities that accept and process plastic film is limited and not widely available.
