Adding Vistamaxx™ propylene-based elastomers to your formulation can lead to stronger, more durable and more appealing food and non-food rigid packaging, pails and buckets, totes, DVD cases and other consumer product packaging. It can also be an alternative to PVC and PET.

Compatibility with polypropylene
Dry-blending Vistamaxx with polypropylene formulations allows enhancements to product performance using your existing manufacturing equipment. Potential benefits include:

  • Reduced parts breakage due to improved impact strength
  • Thin-wall opportunities
  • More durable products
  • Lightweight parts that reduce transportation costs, due to improved low density
  • More consumer appeal, thanks to improved transparency and no stress whitening
  • Increased flexibility in cosmetics and sports bottles, and food and industrial lids
  • Good feel and slip-resistance on closures, handles or feet

Houseware pails and buckets
Compared to other impact modifiers such as advanced polyolefins, Vistamaxx™ propylene-based elastomers provide significant savings and impact resistance when added to low-cost polyolefins. The result is a more durable product at a lower per-unit cost.

Ice cream containers
Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer medium-melt-flow-rate grades with food contact compliance and low-temperature performance provide an effective solution for adding impact resistance and transparency in thin-walled injection-molded food applications such as ice cream containers.

DVD cases
Adding Vistamaxx 6202 to injection-molded DVD cases reduces parts breakage while adding flexibility to living hinges and eliminating stress whitening. That translates into more durable, child-friendly DVD and video game cases.

Clear plastic totes
Blending Vistamaxx™ propylene-based elastomer grades with an existing random copolymer polypropylene maintains transparency and improves impact performance while lowering overall material costs.

FDA and EU compliance
Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomers’ compliance with relevant FDA and EU food contact regulations allows you to manufacture products designed for global markets, capturing greater economy-of-scale efficiencies.
