Low compression set and good elasticity of Santoprene™ TPVs improve performance of clothes dryer seals

Santoprene™ thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) combine the advantages of vulcanized rubber with the processing ease of thermoplastics, making them ideal for door seals, drum rollers, knobs and controls and other dryer components.
- Dryer door seals – Benefit from the low compression set and good elasticity of Santoprene TPVs to provide the excellent sealing performance needed to help make dryers quieter, more durable and more energy efficient.
- Drum rollers – Benefit from Santoprene TPV 8201-80HT grades, which provide excellent abrasion resistance and good elastic recovery to help reduce noise and improve product reliability.
- Knobs and controls - Benefit from colorability, tight molding tolerances and compatibility of Santoprene TPV with other materials, enabling the design of cost-efficient overmolded components.
Temperature resistance
Dryer parts made from Santoprene TPVs perform well at temperatures up to 135°C (275°F) with no cracking or tackiness. Excellent heat aging contributes to outstanding durability even after repeated exposure to high temperatures.
Lower production costs, improved performance
Compatibility of Santoprene TPVs with ExxonMobil™ polypropylene enables development of hard/soft part combinations such as door seals molded directly into the dryer door frame. Because Santoprene TPVs can be processed on standard thermoplastic equipment, you’ll be able to capture the efficiency and economy associated with thermoplastic applications.
UL and RoHS compliance
Santoprene TPV grades recommended for dryers are fully UL- and RoHS-compliant, helping you get products to market faster.
