Toy legislation in the United States

The act provides increased funding for the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), strengthens its authority in response to 2007 lead-related toy recalls, and mandates third-party testing and certification standards. Additionally, the act places restrictions on six phthalates in a narrow range of toys and childcare articles.
