- about us
An established brand, Vistalon™ ethylene propylene diene (EPDM) rubber delivers outstanding product performance and provides the confidence that comes from five decades of being a major player in a demanding industry.
Expansive product portfolio
One of our strengths lies in our mastering of both Ziegler-Natta and metallocene catalyst technologies that complement each other and contribute to one of the broadest, best-performing EPDM rubber portfolios in the industry. Indeed, Vistalon EPDM rubber grades are suited to a wide variety of applications such as automotive weatherseals, mechanical rubber goods, electrical insulation, hoses, belts, and roof sheeting. With the ability to allow high filler loadings in compound formulations, low temperature curing, and high-speed extrusion, Vistalon EPDM provides opportunities for low total system costs.
For customers who want to expand their businesses, we share our expert knowledge of products and applications to develop specific polymer technology solutions for components and parts in a wide range of end-uses. In addition, we have developed a toolkit of application formulations to help our customers meet the application development goals in a cost effective manner.
We supply our products globally, from world-scale integrated petrochemical facilities. Process integration with upstream refineries and crackers provides reliable access to feedstock. This unique position enables us to consistently supply high-quality products. Our customers can rely on us to deliver the product they need, when and where they need it.
Investments in Vistalon EPDM rubber capacity
Our commitment to customers’ growing demand is as strong as ever and we are investing in a new plant to increase our supply capacity. The project for a new facility at the Al-Jubail Petrochemical Company (KEMYA), a joint venture petrochemical plant, is scheduled to start early 2016 and we expect commercial volume to be available in mid-2016.
Our technology experts, experienced sales and marketing teams give us local contact with customers for part development, technical assistance, and processing support. This is supported by our three state-of-the-art rubber-mixing laboratories in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Potential sustainability benefits
New Vistalon EPDM rubber grades offer fast mixing cycles, high cure rate and state, and fast line speeds for energy efficiency and cost saving possibilities. In addition, the metallocene catalyst technology used in the manufacturing of them helps to reduce the carbon footprint compared to our conventional EPDM rubber plants, as it enables a more energy efficient process”, especially during polymerization and finishing operations.
