Do you run demanding sheet and thermoforming applications?
Introducing your new alternative to polystyrene and PET technology: ExxonMobil PP5122E1 resin.
Transparency
By enhancing the crystallization of one of our high-performance polypropylene resins, we are able to optimize the resin’s aesthetic appeal.

Stiffness
Special attention has been paid to the stiffness of the new resin. The enhanced stiffness, expressed by a flexural modulus of 1850 MPa, permits thinner walls for the finished pieces. In addition, PP5122E1 enables better balance between rigidity and brittleness control.

Processability
Both the improved resin properties and improvements in thermoforming equipment during the past years make the processability of this PP resin much more straightforward. Improved cycle times, as demonstrated by tests on state-of-the-art thermoforming equipment, can be obtained.

Cost effectiveness
The appeal of PP5122E1 is also driven by its potential for superior economics. Both its lower density (weight advantage) versus PS and PET (0.9 versus 1.1 and higher) and its improved stiffness (down-gauging) enable a higher output at a constant weight of raw material.
