Higher Alcohols
Exxal alcohols are distilled,
high-purity, clear liquids consisting of primary aliphatic alcohols produced
from selected olefins. They are mixtures of isomers of different branched
structures, primarily methyl branching, with both odd- and even-numbered
carbon chains ranging from C7 to C13.
Exxal alcohols are used
as intermediates for a variety of derivatives used in a multitude of
applications. They exhibit the typical reactivity of higher primary alcohols.
They are mostly used in the processes of ethoxylation, sulfation and
esterification.
