| | Escor™ EAA Copolymers Ethylene Acrylic Acid (EAA) copolymers are used in many extrusion coating processes due to their excellent bonding properties to a variety of materials, such as aluminum, paper and oriented polypropylene. Typical applications include carton-based liquid packaging, flexible pouches and all kinds of form-fill and seal packages. Escor EAA copolymers are also used to protect metal due to their excellent metal adhesion.
Iotek™ Ionomers Ionomers are zinc or sodium neutralized acid copolymers. Ionomers are excellent sealing polymers for packaging lines where high line speeds are required, or where difficult materials need to be packaged. Ionomers are very tough materials and consequently are often used in blister packaging of sharp objects such as nails and screws. This product is excellent for use of peelable seals, where the seal strength is good enough to maintain package integrity but is low enough to facilitate easy opening when required.
Escorene™Ultra EVA (Greater than 6% VA) EVA copolymers are thermoplastic materials produced by the copolymerization of ethylene with vinyl acetate monomer. There are two basic classifications of EVA copolymers when defining major application segments. These segments are concerned with copolymers designed for thermoplastic extrusion, film compounds and molding processes and with those intended as components in hot-melt adhesives and wax blending applications.
