Jayflex plasticizers

Regulatory Information
Regulated Applications

Some Jayflex plasticizers are used for food processing and packaging, as well as sealants – applications that require a regulatory approval, from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S., for example.

For regulated applications, Jayflex plasticizers offer:
  • Good clarity for transparent film
  • Resistance to extraction
  • Low odor/taste
  • Low migration

Jayflex plasticizers have a very low degree of acute toxicity and irritancy. In all cases, oral LD50s are greater than 5g/kg bodyweight.

Jayflex phthalates have an Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) of 5mg/m³ (as specified by the ExxonMobil OEL committee).

Jayflex plasticizers will biodegrade, have a low degree of toxicity to the aquatic environment, and will not bioconcentrate. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available for each Jayflex plasticizer. Please contact the nearest ExxonMobil Chemical Sales Office to request a copy.

FDA regulations for some Jayflex plasticizers are shown in the table at the bottom of the attached page. Additional information on regulatory requirements can be obtained from the nearest ExxonMobil Chemical Sales Office.
