Jayflex Plasticizers -- Meeting Your Fogging Requirements
Fogging is the condensation of volatile substances from various components from the car interior on colder surfaces, in particular on the surface of the windscreen.

It is a well known fact that the evaporation of plasticizers from components used in automotive interiors can have a contribution to the fogging value of the finished material. Analysis by GC of the fogging condensate collected from finished products shows that impurities of a certain volatility, present in the light ends of a plasticizer can contribute to the fogging problem.

Although plasticizers are by far not the major contributor to fogging, the right choice of plasticizer will help to reduce the total amount of fogging.

The molecular weight of the plasticizer plays a crucial role in fogging performance. The use of lower volatile plasticizers such as DINP, DIDP and DIUP helps to reduce considerably the overall fogging value. Jayflex DIUP also offers an outstanding balance of price and performance when compared to similar molecular weight linear plasticizers such as 911P.
