ExxonMobil Chemical has participated in the ethylene elastomer industry since
its beginning in the early 1960s and has been one of the leaders in developing
technology to improve ethylene propylene-based elastomers. We have built a
broad portfolio of catalyst, process and product technology to meet the
changing needs of our customers. Our goal is to work jointly with our
customers to apply the appropriate technical solution for the application need.
A Worldwide Organization
Worldwide technology expertise is available in Baytown, Texas; Machelen,
Belgium; and Bangalore, India. As one of the leading polymer producers,
ExxonMobil Chemical has developed world-class catalyst, polymer science and
analytical capability in Baytown and Machelen. We are fully integrated into
ExxonMobil Chemical's Polymers Technology organization and regularly apply
this capability for our customers.
Outstanding Capability

Applications Technical Service personnel work hand-in-hand with customers to
select the appropriate polymer and optimize compounding and processing to meet
specific end-use requirements.

Product developers engineer new EP(D)M polymers to meet changing customer
needs.

Polymer scientists evaluate new monomers and catalyst technology to expand the
capability of ethylene-based elastomers.

Comprehensive pilot facilities from bench scale to semi-works are used to
evaluate polymers and produce material for customer evaluation.

The Materials Characterization Laboratory at the Baytown Polymers Center
provides state-of-the-art analytical capability for problem solving and
material development.

We are organized to support all aspects of customer technical requirements
including troubleshooting, optimization of product performance and new product
development.
Production Sites
ExxonMobil Chemical offers overall worldwide supply reliability, with plants
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the U.S., Notre Dame de Gravenchon in France and
a joint venture in Yosu, South Korea. Customers benefit from investments in
highly advanced process control equipment and control techniques that ensure
the quality and consistency of our products.
Vistamaxx has been produced at our Baton Rouge, Louisiana facility since it
first became commercially avaliable in 2004.
Our manufacturing plants in the U.S. and France are ISO 9002 certified. Our
joint venture plant in South Korea is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
Statistical Process Control and the Total Quality approach including Total
Productive Maintenance are integral to the manufacturing effort at our sites.
