History: 1961-1970


1961
Industry's first commercial production of ethylene-propylene rubber at ExxonMobil Chemical's Baton Rouge plant.

1964
Commercial production of EPDM (ethylene-propylene diene rubber) begins at ExxonMobil Chemical's Baton Rouge plant which allowed sulfur vulcanization for low-cost compounding for a variety of molded and extruded goods.

1967
ExxonMobil Chemical's EP(D)M rubber commercialized under the Vistalon trade name.
