HOUSTON, TEXAS, DECEMBER 7, 2005 -- ExxonMobil Chemical Company announced that
it has appointed ExxonMobil Singapore Chemical Plant Site Manager Georges
Grosliere as the project executive for a possible second steam-cracking train
now under study for Singapore.
The company also awarded a project coordination and services contract to
Foster Wheeler and WorleyParsons for work associated with the study.
The project scope includes a world-scale steam cracker and associated
derivatives units, including new world-scale polyethylene, polypropylene and
specialty elastomers plants, an aromatics extraction unit and oxo alcohol
expansion.

additional product capacity would significantly increase our global supply
capability particularly in Asia. This proposed investment reflects our
continued confidence in Singapore as a desirable location in which to do
business."
The new world-scale steam cracker would be located at and integrated with
ExxonMobil's existing refinery and chemical plant in Singapore. The investment
is expected to be competitive with investments for other world-class
steam-cracker complexes.
