EU Solvent Emissions Directive
The EU Solvent Emissions Directive ("VOC Directive") was adopted by the European Council in March 1999. The deadline for Member States to transpose it into National Law is April 1, 2001. The Directive aims at reducing the amount of VOC emissions from industrial installations using solvents (e.g. coatings, printing, industrial and dry cleaning, adhesives). It sets VOC emission limits for a number of industrial sectors.
