|  | Although automotive polishes, waxes and other appearance products are not currently regulated, CARB has included these categories of products in future regulations. Since many of these products are based on silicone oils or various waxes suspended in odorless mineral spirits, Isopar M, Norpar 13, or Exxsol D95 Fluids can be effective LVP Fluids choices to comply with future VOC standards. Although somewhat slower drying, the final film properties should not be noticeably affected.
Clariant has provided us with a number of starting formula for automotive waxes and polishes using ExxonMobil Chemical's LVP Fluids.
Solvent Paste Wax for Car & Boat
This low VOC paste wax complies with the 45% maximum VOC content limit effective 1/1/05 in California and several Ozone Transport Commission states. It also has acceptable film dryness, gloss, and paste hardness.
