A number of Vistalon grades can be used in hose manufacturing. Among these, our new Vistalon bimodal grades have the unique advantage of combining the benefits of an amorphous EP(D)M for elastic properties and a crystalline EP(D)M for green strength and processing performance.
Today's car maker specifications are very stringent on hose performance at low and high temperature (up to 160°C). This means high flexibility in a wide temperature range and very good compression set which can only be provided by an amorphous EP(D)M. In addition, the manufacturing process typically requires good compound green strength generally given by a crystalline EP(D)M. Our bimodal grades are the solution to this need.
Vistalon grades are available to meet a wide variety of hose applications including bimodal grades which avoid complex grade blends required to meet high demanding formulation challenges.
