| Which ExxonMobil Chemical aromatic fluids are used in agriculture? The heavy aromatic fluids, Solvesso 100, 150 and 200 (known as Aromatic 100, 150 and 200 in the U.S.), are primarily used in these applications. They provide good solvency and a higher flash point.

| How are the heavy aromatic fluids used in agriculture? Heavy aromatic fluids play many roles in agricultural formulations. The most widespread use is in emulsifiable concentrate formulations, where the fluid dissolves the active ingredient and acts as a carrier for it and other formulation components. Aromatic fluids are also used in solvent based solutions (ultra-low volume applications), in oil flowables or suspension concentrates, and as carriers for surfactant and emulsifier blends.

| What aromatic fluids' properties are important in agriculture? Our aromatic fluids have a number of properties important to their use in agricultural applications. These properties include:
1. High solvency. The high aromatic content imparts high solvency to these materials. High solvency permits delivery of a large amount of active ingredient per unit volume of the fluid. 2. High flash point. Higher flash components will generally increase safety in product transportation and also create safer storage conditions. 3. Low volatility. A lower volatility fluid will remain in place longer. This can help to prolong efficacy of the active ingredient on plant surfaces. 4. Low phytotoxicity. The aromatic fluids are essentially nonphytotoxic at typical application rates in the field. 5. Low-temperature performance. The high solvency of the aromatic fluids means they are less susceptible to loss of solvency at low temperatures. This enhances the ability of the pesticide formulation to hold the active ingredient in the solution and maintain emulsion stability at lower temperatures.

| Which ExxonMobil Chemical aliphatic fluids are used in agriculture? Isopar, Exxsol D and Norpar Fluids are used in agricultural applications. In the Isopar Fluids product slate, the L, M and V grades are used. In the Exxsol D Fluid product slate, the D60, D80, D100, D110, D120, D130 and D140 grades are used. In the Norpar Fluid product slate, the 12, 13 and 15 grades are used.

| How are our aliphatic fluids used in agriculture? Exxsol D, Isopar and Norpar Fluids can play many roles in agricultural chemicals. They are used in emulsifiable concentrate formulations where they are used to dissolve the active ingredient and other formulation components. All of these aliphatic fluids can be used in solvent-based solutions (ultra-low volume), in oil flowables or suspension concentrates, and as carriers for surfactant and emulsifier blends. However, they are more commonly used as adjuvants.

| What properties are important in the use aliphatic fluids in agriculture? These aliphatic fluids have a number of important properties with respect to their use in agriculture in general and specifically as adjuvants. These properties include:
1. Low phytotoxicity. The aliphatic fluids are essentially nonphytotoxic at typical application rates in the field. The Exxsol D Fluids and the high purity Isopar Fluids are generally considered to be nonphytotoxic even at high concentrations. 2. Low surface tension. Low surface tension facilitates "spreadability," and provides more uniform wetting of the surface to which the pesticide is applied. All of our aliphatic fluids exhibit very low surface tension. 3. Low odor. This characteristic is especially important in home-and-garden formulations. The Exxsol D Fluids have low odor. The Isopar Fluids and Norpar Fluids are essentially odorless. 4. Solvency power. The Exxsol D Fluids have a high cycloparaffin content that gives increased solvency power as compared to the Isopar Fluids and Norpar Fluids.
