Hydrocarbon fluids for drilling applications
With more than a century dedicated to finding and producing oil and gas, ExxonMobil has built an incomparable level of experience in how to do it right. We combined our drilling, product technology and environmental expertise to tailor a range of Escaid™ hydrocarbon fluids for drilling mud oils that perform under the toughest drilling conditions while meeting safety, health and environmental requirements.
Each Escaid fluid grade features distinct characteristics that address unique requirements:
- Escaid 110 fluid – a very low viscosity fluid (around 1.7 cSt at 40°C / 104°F) that serves as a premier product for drilling fluids in deepwater and extended-reach applications
- Escaid 115 fluid – low viscosity fluid (around 2.1 cSt at 40°C / 104°F) with a higher flash point that is suitable for high-temperature drilling conditions
- Escaid 120 fluid – offers the advantage of an even higher flash point (above 100°C / 212°F), low evaporation losses and a viscosity that is just right for many environments
- Escaid 120 ULA fluid – provides the same benefits of Escaid 120 but with even less aromatic content
