Improve balance of stiffness and high-impact strength with Exxtral™ performance polyolefins

Exxtral™ performance polyolefins are used by automakers for interior trim, instrument panels, door panels and other interior applications where a balance of stiffness and high impact strength is essential. Increasingly, Exxtral polyolefins are replacing heavier, difficult-to-recycle combinations of more costly engineered thermoplastics.
Interior trim
The high melt flow rate of Exxtral polyolefins and ability to use low-pressure molding allow long flow lengths for complex designs. Exxtral polyolefin gives upper and lower trim exceptional stiffness and strength. It provides options for molded-in color savings versus painting, with excellent long-term appearance.
Instrument panels
Low emissions levels deliver low fogging and low odor. Fully UV-stabilized interior parts match and retain true-to-original OEM color specs. High melt flow rate (>20 MFR) allows large panel design with seamless airbags.
Door panels
Exxtral performance polyolefins can provide nonsticky surfaces which meet stringent OEM requirements. High-impact grades with a 0.9 density offer weight savings compared to talc-filled grades. Exxtral polyolefins also add outstanding scratch resistance, below 1.5 at 10N, for better parts appearance.
Automotive exteriors also benefit from Exxtral polyolefins where excellent surface appearance and low-temperature/high-impact properties are critical.
Additional interior options
Affordable ExxonMobil™ polypropylene resin is used for interior applications such as door and quarter-panel trim, lower trim, doors, seat shields, pillars, headers, rib cartridges, head impact and air bags. A variety of polypropylene grades, approved by OEMs, provides a range of flow, stiffness and impact characteristics.
