specialty elastomers
Santoprene™ TPVs provide low compression set, elastic recovery and outstanding chemical resistance in clothes washing machine seals

Santoprene™ thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) combine low compression set, elastic recovery and outstanding chemical resistance, making them ideal for home laundry components, including:
- Top-load washer door seals
- Filter seals
- Hoses and couplings
- Vibration dampeners
- Molded cuffs and elbows
Durable and reliable
Designed specifically for appliance applications, Santoprene TPV W255 grades improve washing machine durability and reliability. They combine excellent mechanical properties with protection against heavy concentrations of detergents, bleach, high heat and moisture. See the online TPV Fluid Resistance Guide.
Parts consolidation
Bonding properties with polypropylene (PP) and engineered plastics such as polyamide or ABS help improve sealing performance and improve manufacturing efficiency. Overmolding Santoprene TPV onto a PP frame, for example, produces a strong top loader door seal with excellent sealing characteristics and good heat resistance – all at a lower per-unit price.
UL, NSF and RoHS certification
Santoprene TPVs recommended for clothes washers, including NSF-approved grades, are fully UL- and RoHS-compliant, helping you get products to market faster.
Design freedom
The colorability, tight molding tolerances and compatibility of Santoprene TPVs with other materials support the design of cost-efficient, brand-differentiating solutions. Create color-matched seals or soft-touch controls.
For additional design options, consider Vistalon™ EPDM for heavy-duty front loader door seals. Co-extruded surface protective films with Vistamaxx™ propylene-based elastomers protect finished products with inherent outstanding adhesive strength.
