TransPlus (heavy aromatics transalkylation)

Chemical plant operating at night

The TransPlussm (heavy aromatics transalkylation) process is a low-cost, high-conversion solution to effectively transalkylate C9+ heavy aromatics and toluene/benzene into higher-value mixed xylenes and high-purity benzene. It uses a proprietary catalyst working with improved process technology, co-developed with and commercialized by the CPC Corp. of Taiwan. As part of a TransPlus license, ExxonMobil Chemical provides full support for licensees from initial consultation through technology transfer and ongoing improvements.

TransPlus advantages

  • High feedstock flexibility
  • Longer cycles and enhanced product selectivity
  • Capital savings: retrofit or grass roots
  • Simple fixed-bed process
